I Can Be Anything
The Detroit Public School (DPS) system has seen change throughout the years. When Detroit first started bringing in more workers and families due to the auto industry there was a surplus of students and not enough schools for them. Detroit has seen an increase in dropout rates and with that students do not continue their education beyond high school. To combat this issue, my partner and I created a kit to inspire kids to stay in school. In addition, the kit helps to prepare a child for a future career.
The kit is designed to match a student with a career path that matches their interest and aims to get them excited about the next steps after graduation. This kit is meant for a student to be able to express themselves and figure out what it is they want to do without putting so much pressure on them to go the traditional way and go to college.
